social media tools to help you rock your socials
LINKTREE Linktree for Instagram is the. greatest. tool. EVER. #notevenkidding Basically, it lets you add multiple links to your Instagram bio by generating a custom link to include in your profile, as you can see in my profile:
When someone clicks this custom link, they see a page with multiple links you want to share – for example, links to your blog, shop page, email signup, or other social accounts. Whatever you want to link to, really! So instead of regularly having to update your bio link according to what you’re posting about, you can have multiple links that you may only need to update now and then.
MILOTREE Convert your website visitors into followers, subscribers & customers! The MiloTree pop-up is the easiest, fastest, and cheapest way to grow your social media followers and email list. (You would have seen it pop up at the bottom right when you landed on this page).
SUMO Sumo is a suite of useful tools designed to help you grow your website’s traffic. The tools are easy to install, and there are two versions, free and paid. You can create scroll up boxes, hello bars, pop-ups, welcome mats and social sharing buttons (see those pink squares? At the bottom of your screen if you’re on your smartphone, or on the left of the screen if you’re using a laptop/desktop. They make it super easy for your readers to quickly share your content!)
SMARTERQUEUE Seriously, THE smartest way to do social media. This tool has allowed to streamline my social media posting in a HUGE way. I spend about an hour a week scheduling my Instagram (and Facebook) posts in advance. It’s got everything you need, in one place: content calendar, scheduling, content curation, visual reports, and performance analytics. They have a 14-day free trial, but you can use this link to get a 30-day FREE trial!
POSTPLANNER This app is a marketing tool that helps page administrators and group administrators automate their Facebook pages and groups. There are tons of helpful features help users to make most out of their Facebook marketing effort, and starts at just $3 per month!
RECURPOST This is a FREE social media tool that allows you to recycle your best updates on social media (Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter) to get more traffic.
GRUM Grum lets you schedule your Instagram posts from the web, and after scheduling, it will post directly to Insta for you without any push notifications.
TAILWIND Let me just say… if you’re not using Pinterest to promote your blog, you should be! And once you’re on Pinterest, then using a scheduler is the best and most efficient way to get your content seen, and get traffic back to your blog. Tailwind is an API-approved partner with Pinterest. (Which means it’s “Pinterest Official”). It has a great graphic interface, and is perfect for visual learners. Your first 100 pins are free, then pricing starts from $9.99 per month (billed annually, or $15 paid monthly).
INSTAGRAM FEED PLANNING
When the average Insta user lands on your profile, you literally only have a second or two to make a good impression. Whether your feed (in particular, the first nine squares) is appealing to the eye – or not – will influence their decision to follow you, click on your bio link, or even just read your bio. And that’s exactly why it’s so important to plan out your Instagram feed. Here are a few of my fave social media tools (apps) for grid planning:
CANVA Oh Canva, how I love thee! Seriously one of the best FREE resources around – one that makes stunning design possible for us “mere mortals”. I use this for SO many things! Such as… my pinnable images for my blog posts, Facebook post images, Facebook ad images, branded Instagram content, etc.
EASIL Easil is the Drag-and-Drop Design tool that helps you create visual content SO good it looks like a Pro designed it. AKA, #draganddropdesignheaven. Perfect for posters, flyers, social media images, infographics and more. And yep, this one’s free too.
WAVE.VIDEO Never miss another fun National Day celebration, holiday or observance! Use this calendar to check for upcoming National and International celebrations you can incorporate into your socials.
If you’re posting multiple times a day on your socials, then this usually means you’ll require multiple images.
Using styled stock photos can make it so much easier to have images ready to go on a daily basis – you can customise these images by cropping them, applying text overlays, and/or using them to create branded graphics.

RECOMMENDED SOCIAL MEDIA TRAINING
INSTAGRAM AUTHORITY [by Alex Tooby] Alex’s courses are by far the best Instagram training I’ve done to date. (And yes, I’m qualified to say that, because I’ve done a LOT of Instagram courses, and used Alex’s methods to grow my previous account to over 15k followers!). EBOOK: “THE SHE APPROACH TO MAKING PINTEREST POSSIBLE” This is a step-by-step guide to mastering Pinterest and crafting a long-term strategy that you can easily automate. Actually, it’s the BEST Pinterest ebook I’ve come across to date. And that’s because it’s not your standard “basic” guide to Pinterest. Nope! It goes waaaayy beyond how to just create a profile and put up pretty board covers, and actually taps into the core of how Pinterest really works – and more importantly, how you can make it work for you!
PINNING PERFECT This is an 8-module online course created for bloggers and small biz owners, and it is extremely comprehensive – and what I love most is that you get lifetime access, and it’s constantly being updated with the latest information regarding Pinterest.
Podcasts are a great way to learn new tips and skills you can apply to your social media marketing, and are THE perfect way to fuel your mind and stay inspired. Here are the podcasts that I love and listen to daily… and they’re all free, of course!
